Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Service

10/6/2011

The expected birth of a child brings great joy to many families, but for some the joy is short-lived.  When a pregnancy ends in miscarriage, or an infant dies within weeks of being born, families are left with broken hearts and empty arms.

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital’s Women’s Services and Health Ministries teams are joining together to honor those who have suffered a miscarriage or the death of an infant with a special Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Service  on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. in the hospital’s conference center on the basement level of the East Tower.

The Remembrance Service is designed to encourage those who have experienced this type of loss to support one another.  There will be a time of prayer and poetry, as we share ideas to help families memorialize the infant who has died. In addition, each family will receive a memorial ribbon to wear and a candle to light on October 15th, National Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

For more information, or to have your baby’s name included in a special slide show presentation during the service, please contact Debbie Carey, LCRH Health Ministries, at 678-3573 or deborah.carey@lpnt.net .
