Enjoy Zumba© at Monday’s Pounds Off Pulaski Meeting

Monday night’s program is the third in the series of Pounds Off programs, designed to help participants with lifestyle changes, nutrition, and exercise so they can be successful in meeting their weight-loss goals.

After focusing on using technology to help reach goals in the first meeting and nutrition and lifestyle changes for the second meeting, this week’s program will help participants enjoy exercise with a lively and fun evening of Zumba©.

The meeting will be held on Monday, January 22, in the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Conference Center on the basement level of the East Tower.  Weigh-ins begin at 5:00 p.m., with the program to follow at 6:00 p.m.

Monday night’s meeting will be led by instructor, Teresa Hail, from First Baptist Church Zumba© - one of our POP Community Partners.  Licensed to teach both Zumba© and Zumba© Gold Fitness, Teresa leads classes two days each week at First Baptist Church.

Known for its Latin music and exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves, Zumba© is a fun and effective way to burn calories, strengthen muscles and bones, and get a good cardiac workout. Teresa will teach POP participants who are just learning the skill, special modified moves to make for an entertaining and invigorating evening at a comfortable pace and intensity level.

Pounds Off Pulaski is a 12-week county-wide weight loss challenge sponsored by Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce.  During the 12-week POP challenge, weekly meetings are held to provide support, information, and helpful tools to help participants keep on track so they can reach their personal goals.

In addition to POP participants, community members with an interest in healthy living are always welcomed to attend the programs as well.
