Types of Wounds Treated at WCC

Any wound that has not started to heal in a month, or is not completely healed in two months, may be a candidate for the Wound Care Center.

Some of the indications for wound therapy are:

  • Pressure ulcers
  • Diabetic ulcers
  • Neuropathic ulcers
  • lschemic ulcers
  • Venous insufficiency
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Surgical wounds
  • Vaculitis
  • Burns
  • Peristomal skin irritations
  • Lymphedema
  • Other chronic, non-healing wounds

A program tailored to the patient's needs will be initiated based on the most effective treatment options.

Treatment may include:

  • Infectious disease management
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

  • Nuclear medicine
  • Radiology
  • Debridement
