Dr. Yanicko to discuss State-of-the-Art Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedic procedures are often a real challenge to understand, and the accompanying terminology can be even more confusing. But, one way to take some of the challenge out of medical decisions you may need to make is understanding that many of the complicated orthopedic surgeries you thought you had to leave home for are actually being performed locally.

Daniel R. Yanicko, Jr., M.D., orthopedic surgeon, will be the featured speaker at this month’s “Dine with the Docs” program.  Dr. Yanicko’s presentation, “State of the Art Orthopedic Surgery - Here and Now at LCRH,” will provide important information about advanced surgeries he performs.

The public meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 14, in the Conference Center at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital on the basement level of the East Tower.  A complimentary dinner will be provided by the hospital in Chatters Café at 5:30 p.m. and the program will follow at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required.

Dr. Yanicko will discuss some of the advanced surgeries he performs, including minimally invasive total joint replacement; reverse total shoulder replacement; unicompartmental/partial knee replacement; arthroscopic subchondroplasty for knee femoral or tibial arthritic stress fracture; arthritic thumb implant arthroplasty- Stablyx implant; as well as innovative fracture care of the leg, wrist, shoulder, knee and elbow.

If you would like to learn more about the scope of orthopedic surgeries available locally, or if you are considering joint replacement, have arthritis, or problems of the knee, hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, foot or ankle, this program will be of interest to you. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
Dr. Yanicko is a graduate of Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital, where he received special training in general orthopedics, sports medicine, trauma, and minimally-invasive joint replacement.
Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Yanicko is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons
