LCRH announces the acquisition of Cumberland Gastroenterology

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is proud to announce the expansion of its G.I. offerings with the acquirement of Cumberland Gastroenterology, which has been renamed Gastroenterology Associates of Lake Cumberland. 

Board Certified Physicians Samir Cook, MD, Benjamin Bryson, MD and Todd Horn, MD along with Nurse Practitioners Angie Stinson, Alisha Cooley, Heather Thompson and Sharon Adams will continue to serve the region’s gastroenterology, hepatology and related endoscopy needs. 

Dr. Samir Cook graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.  He then returned to The University Texas Health Science Center in Houston to complete his gastroenterology fellowship, after finishing his fellowship he and his family relocated here to Somerset in 1999, where he has been serving the community and the surrounding counties for twenty years.

Dr. Todd Horn graduated with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. After completing an internship and an accelerated residency in internal medicine at UK, Dr. Horn also completed a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology with special emphasis in advanced endoscopy. During his residency, he was named Internal Medicine Resident of the Year.

Dr. Benjamin Bryson, grew up in London, Kentucky, and is a magna cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He earned his medical degree from The University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UK Chandler Medical Center. Dr. Bryson recently also completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at The University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

The office will remain in its existing location at 56 Tower Circle, Somerset, KY 42503 and new patients wishing to make an appointment can call 606-677-2913 between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Fridays.   Existing patients of Cumberland Gastroenterology will remain patients at Gastroenterology Associates of Lake Cumberland and will not need to take any action at this time.
