Inpatient Rehabilitation Services

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital provides a comprehensive team to ensure that each patient has the opportunity and the support to reach their maximum functional independence for a better quality of life once they return home. We offer Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Dietary Consultation, Case Management & Discharge Planning, and 24-hour Rehab Nursing.
Rehabilitation is individualized for each patient depending upon their needs and is supervised and coordinated with our team of rehabilitation physicians.
Physical Therapy uses modalities of heat, cold, electricity, water, sound, massage, therapeutic exercise, patient and family education to restore or improve physical functional abilities, alleviation of pain and barriers to the healing process. Treatment is rendered to adult patients with special attention to focus on the patient’s and family’s goals of treatment.
Occupational Therapy provides the opportunity to acquire skills or compensatory techniques through activities of daily living retraining, adaptive equipment training, improving fine motor skills, and splint fabrication. Emphasis is placed on promoting functional independence of each patient. Our Occupational Therapists work along with physical therapy ensuring a coordinated team approach to the patient’s recovery needs.
Speech Therapy evaluates and treats disorders involving cognitive and motor disabilities of speech, swallowing, and communication of patients up the referral of a medical doctor. Speech Therapists also develop supplementary language systems through augmentative and alternate communication devices and provide patient and family education to restore function.
Inpatient rehab services are available 7 days per week depending on the needs of the patient.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
In addition to our 18 bed inpatient rehab unit, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital has an outpatient therapy department located at 349 Bogle Street. You can reach our outpatient therapy department by calling 606-678-3151.
Physical and Occupational Therapy
The Physical and Occupational Therapists at outpatient therapy location work to directly address the problems that are interfering with your ability to perform activities important to you — and to make sure you know how to prevent future problems. Whether your goal is to walk again, get back to work, or get back to your favorite activity, our physical and occupational therapists will work with you to reach your goals.

Outpatient therapy services are available by appointment Monday through Friday with weekend coverage based on the individual needs of the patient. General hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
