Chief Executive Officer
Robert Parker re-joined Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital as CEO in the fall of 2019 after serving as the hospital’s COO from 2004 until 2011. He most recently served as Market President of LifePoint’s Central Kentucky East market, which consists of Clark Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and Bourbon Community Hospital, and as CEO of CRMC.
During his time in this dual role, Parker has helped drive operational improvements, generate growth in key areas, support enhancements in quality and patient safety, and create greater synergies between the two markets.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), which is the highest level of safety certification available.
He lives in Somerset with his wife Trish, and together they have two adult children: Josh and Caroline.
Chief Operating Officer
Brian Springate joined LCRH after serving for over 4 years as CEO of Fleming County Hospital, another LifePoint facility in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. He also spent three years as chief operating officer of Logan Regional Medical Center and three years as chief nursing officer at Bourbon Community Hospital.
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, he holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from The Florida Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
He and his wife Melissa, a radiologic technologist and credentialed chest pain center coordinator, have three children: Corey, AJ, and Madi, all currently working in healthcare as well.
Chief Nursing Officer
Pamela Booker has been the interim Chief Nursing Officer at Lake Cumberland since January 2020. Prior to LCRH she served as Chief Nursing Officer for LifePoint Health’s Western Group, where she was responsible for clinical operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and constituency satisfaction and physician engagement.
As a Kentucky native from the Owensboro area, she is a graduate of the Kentucky Wesleyan College School of Nursing in Owensboro and obtained her Master of Nursing Degree from Walden University. She is also a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
Michael Citak, MD
Chief Medical Officer
A Chicago native, Dr. Michael Citak has served as Chief Medical Officer at Lake Cumberland since 2007, where he is also a general surgery specialist. He is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completed his residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and while in practice, he completed an MBA at the University of Tennessee.
He served in the United States Air Force as a General Surgeon, earning various teaching honors and taking care of active duty troops and has completed clinical fellowships in interventional ERCP and general thoracic surgery.
He is Board Certified in Surgery, is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety, and a Certified Physician Executive by the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Sloan has served as Chief Financial Officer at Lake Cumberland for over 13 years, prior to which he served as Chief Financial Officer at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Before joining LifePoint he spent ten years with HCA Healthcare in various financial leadership positions throughout Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana.
He is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Marketing.
J. Barry Dixon, MD
President, Physician Practices
Dr. Barry Dixon has served the Somerset community as a family practitioner at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital since 1991. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical doctorate from the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
He completed his residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. Dr. Dixon is a member of the Kentucky Academy of Family Physicians, the Kentucky Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the County Medical Society.
He is an inaugural member of LifePoint’s National Physician Advisory Board and has served as President of Lake Cumberland’s Physician Services since 2013.
