NEXT STeP Extern Program
The Nurse Extern Summer Transition Program is an eight-week summer program designed to provide nursing students with multiple benefits including:
- The opportunity to augment the skill set you have currently developed during your nursing clinical rotations and skills lab
- Spending time in observation of specialty areas of nursing practice
- Exploring team dynamics as you become a valued member of the patient care team on your home unit
- Expanding your knowledge base as you observe new skill sets and discuss the care of the patient in real time with your preceptor and other care providers for the multidisciplinary care perspective
Applicants will be evaluated based on review of their work history, academic performance, references, application packet and interviews with facility leadership.
