The Imaging Center
The Premiere Resource for Radiological Medical TestingWith advanced imaging technology, we're able to understand your needs, providing you with the most accurate diagnosis, so that your doctor can prescribe the best treatment. Completed in July 2019, LCRH's new Imaging Center features separate men's and women's lounges, a coffee bar, and custom curated, spa-like atmosphere to put your mind at ease while you wait for your procedure.
Courteous CareWe understand that many diagnostic imaging services are somewhat uncomfortable, and our staff is sensitive to your needs.
Our friendly, professional technologists and support personnel are state and nationally certified. They have extensive training specific to their particular diagnostic equipment, so you know your results will be as accurate as possible. And your results are quickly available to your physician, so you can proceed with any necessary treatment without delay.
We're located near the LCRH campus, with easy access from Bogle Street and Tradepark Drive. The Imaging Center features a covered drive-up entrance and ample parking close to the building.
Because our facility is off-site from the hospital, we only offer outpatient imaging services and outpatient laboratory services, which means more timely appointments. We offer a wide range of imaging services under one roof: MRI, X-Ray, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), digital fluoroscopy, ultra sound, digital mammography, stereotactic core breast biopsy and bone dexatometry. (Laboratory and CT services are located at the hospital.)The Imaging Center is equipped to serve health care professionals and the growing health care needs of the citizens in the Lake Cumberland region. Medical imaging technology available at The Imaging Center includes the ability to diagnose specific conditions such as breast cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke, vascular diseases and others. Noninvasive and minimally invasive procedures such as image guided biopsies avoid more costly invasive surgical procedures and allow for quicker response to health care advice.
Open MRI - We understand having an MRI can be challenging for some people. That’s why we proudly offer Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) using an Open MRI machine. MRI is a technique which uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create images of the soft tissues and organs of the body with great detail
Mammography is a special type of x-ray imaging that uses low dose x-ray, high contrast, high resolution film and an x-ray system, which is designed to create detailed images of the breast. The FDA reports this procedure can find 85 to 90 percent of breast cancers in women over 50 and can discover a lump up to two years before it can be felt. If an abnormality is detected, Stereotactic Ultrasound can be used to guide the nonsurgical biopsy of the lump.
Bone Mineral Density can be a key indicator in determining if a woman or man has osteoporosis. Bone mineral density measurement with the DEXA (dual energy x-ray) is painless, requires no injections, sedation, special diet, nor any other advance preparation. The entire exam typically takes just a few minutes to complete. Bone densitometry can also be used to estimate a patient's risk of fracture.
Osteoporosis can lead to fractures of the hip, spine, forearm and other bones. With good screening and treatment, much of the pain and disability caused by this disease is preventable.
Advanced Diagnostic Capabilities for Physician AccuracyThe Imaging Center, fully certified by the American College of Radiology in mammography and MRI, is committed to excellence in patient care and customer service. We send patient exam films and reports directly to physicians, who will discuss the results with their patients.
Because we are a facility dedicated solely to diagnostic and evaluation services, we deliver accurate and timely information so patients and physicians can act to achieve the best possible health care treatment.
Patient Comfort and Convenience are PrioritiesAdvances in technology allow for procedures that eliminate painful and more expensive patient surgeries. The Imaging Center is designed with the patient's well being in mind. Our diagnostic imaging facility is located off-site from Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital but still on the hospital campus to serve patients with specific diagnostic needs in a more efficient and relaxed manner.
The Imaging Center is an FDA Certified facility and is an approved provider for most major insurance carriers and health plans. We will submit patient claims under the benefit coverage specified.
Patients should arrive 20 minutes early to verify registration and to provide health information related to the exam. We welcome the opportunity to serve you.
