Lake Cumberland Imaging Center Unveils New 64-Slice CT Scanner to Enhance Patient Care

December 22, 2025

Lake Cumberland Imaging Center is thrilled to announce the installation of an advanced 64-slice GE Revolution Maxima CT Scanner, marking a significant investment in our diagnostic imaging capabilities. This upgrade not only reinforces its commitment to delivering exceptional patient care but also enhances the overall experience for patients in Pulaski County and surrounding communities.

As a facility fully accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for Mammography, MRI, Ultrasound, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy, we are dedicated to excellence in patient care and customer service. Additionally, the facility is proud to be recognized as a Comprehensive Breast Center of Excellence by the ACR, offering a range of imaging services, including MRI, ultrasound, DEXA, X-Ray, PET Scan, and specialized breast imaging.

The new 64-slice CT scanner offers significant enhancements, including lower doses of radiation, which provide an extra margin of safety for patients. The scanner’s faster scan times contribute to improved patient comfort, making it ideal for those who may have difficulty holding their breath or remaining still for extended periods. This results in higher-quality images and more accurate diagnoses.

“This investment in the latest CT technology is just another example of our commitment to providing quality diagnostic imaging services close to home,” said Destiney Deschenes, Chief Operating Officer at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. “This technology allows us to assist physicians in making quicker and more accurate diagnoses for their patients.”

To celebrate this significant advancement in patient care, Lake Cumberland Imaging Center proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a milestone in our mission to provide superior healthcare services to the community.

Carolyn Sparks, Chief Executive Officer of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, emphasized the importance of this investment: “This means our community has access to additional imaging services without having to travel far from home. We are excited to continue advancing the level of care available right here in Pulaski County.”
