Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Welcomes Nicole Troyer, MD, MPH, Pediatric Hospitalist

September 14, 2026
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital (LCRH) is pleased to announce the addition of Nicole Troyer, MD, MPH, pediatrician, to its medical care team as a Pediatric Hospitalist.

Dr. Troyer brings comprehensive training and a strong commitment to inpatient pediatric care. Her clinical focus includes providing reliable, high-quality care for hospitalized children, coordinating complex needs with the broader health care team, and maintaining clear communication with families and referring providers.

“We are committed to provide comprehensive inpatient pediatric services, and we are excited to welcome Dr. Troyer,” said Carolyn Sparks, CEO of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. “Her dedication to patient-centered care, her inpatient experience, and her commitment to communication and coordination will have a meaningful impact on the children and families we serve.”

Dr. Troyer earned her MD/MPH from East Tennessee State University, Quillen College of Medicine (Johnson City, TN), completing a Rural Primary Care Track. She then continued her medical training at the University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics (Charlottesville, VA) as a resident physician (July 2023–June 2026). Her education and training reflect a strong commitment to both clinical excellence and population health, with emphasis on pediatric care in diverse settings—including rural health-focused experiences.

Dr. Troyer’s work as a pediatric hospitalist supports the hospital’s goal of delivering strong, accessible inpatient pediatric care. In this role, she will collaborate closely with partner providers and families while continuing LCRH’s commitment to the Golisano Children’s at UK—Affiliate Network.

The Golisano Children’s at UK—Affiliate Network helps ensure children across Kentucky have access to high-quality pediatric care regardless of location, by partnering with community hospitals across the state. The network provides support to affiliate hospitals, with a focus on neonatology and pediatric hospital medicine. This includes connecting member hospitals with pediatric experts at UK HealthCare, developing customized training and education, identifying opportunities for pediatric collaboration, and facilitating education and training through virtual and in-person lectures, hands-on exercises, and an annual conference.
