Our Services

At Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, our senior behavioral health services include:

  • Qualified staff including psychiatrist, social worker, counselor, nurse and mental health technician
  • Treatment from a medical physician if indicated
  • An overall assessment of medical and behavioral health needs
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Daily assessment and care by behavioral health professionals
  • Medication management
  • 24-hour nursing services
  • Recreational therapy
  • Occupational and Physical Therapy
  • Lab and imaging services
  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Discharge planning, including coordination of follow-up care and assistance with alternative living arrangements if indicated
  • Coordination of follow-up care with a mental health and/or medical provider
  • Assistance with issues, including guardianship, power of attorney and/or advance directives

 

Conditions that we can help manage include:

  • Severe depression
  • Suicidal or thoughts of self-harm
  • Social withdrawal
  • Increased forgetfulness or confusion
  • Loss of interest in self-care
  • Insomnia and change in sleeping patterns
  • Mood changes
  • Delusions and/or hallucinations
  • Aggressive or combative behaviors
  • Behaviors that could cause potential harm to self or others (that are not typically characteristic of that person)
  • Agitation
  • Paranoia
  • Refusal to take medications
  • Recurrent thoughts of dying
